Once the donor area is prepared for the procedure, the appropriate hair follicles are collected individually. Follicles are harvested with punches smaller than 1 mm (0,6 mm-0,8 mm) via FUE motor. The harvested follicles (grafts) contain 2-3 hair cells. In the meantime, it is very important not to damage the follicles. This is directly related to the experience of the hair transplant team. Since thousands of follicles will be removed from the donor area during hair transplantation, the small tip to be used will affect the healing process of the region. Follicle harvesting is a crucial process which requires care and effort. Patient can receive 10.000-12.000 hair strands with the grafts taken in one session. After all these hair follicles are collected, separation process is started. After all these grafts are separated individually, transplant procedure is started.

For the transplant process, it is necessary to open channels very carefully. Opening channels is a process that requires precision and experience as much as harvesting follicles. The lateral slit method, which has been started to be preferred instead of the punch system when opening the channel, enables to open channels according to patient's hair follicle size and length by making incisions appropriate for the hair structure. Channels opened at the right size and depth affect the hair growth rate of hair transplantation. Another factor for a natural result is to determine the hairline correctly. It should be decided regarding the forehead area and starting point of the hair.
